[April 1, 2007][Xenogears]Home is Where...
Title: Home is Where...
Day/Theme: April 1, 2007
Series: Xenogears
Character/Pairing: Bart/Margie
Rating: G
"I liked traveling on the Yggdrasil with you, Bart," Margie explained, trying to sit very still on the bed to rest her wounded leg, "But everytimg I come home to Niisan, I realize how much I love this place better than anywhere in the world. Aveh is my home- and your home too, so we'll have to do our utmost to protect it."
Bart nodded and leaned his chin on the back of the chair he was occupying in a backwards position. He breathed in the scent of the room, smelling the dry air, the peppery sharp spices from the market, and the dried sago poppies in the vase on the sidetable. Coarsely woven rugs and the swirling sand- these were the textures of Aveh. Fresh bananas, dates, and figs- these were the nation's tastes. In the Aquavy Islands, surrounded by oceans, and in Shevat, surrounded by sky, he had felt far from home, so Bart was pretty sure he knew what Margie meant.
Bart looked long and gawky draped over the back of the chair. "You're the most important part of home though," she murmured, looking down and lettering her chestnut hair fall over her eyes.
Bart's single eye glimmered. Margie wondered if he had heard. He made no sign to sway her mind either way.
"I'm going to have to travel longer to protect Aveh," he said, "But I guess you already know that."
"Yeah," the girl affirmed his words.
"When I'm done bashing down those gates and smashing up Solaris though," Bart grinned, sitting up cheerfully, "Just you seen then! No one will ever mess with Aveh or Kislev or Aquavy or anywhere on the earth ever again! We'll be the bosses of our own destiny. I'll do it with my own two hands!"
She loved to see him be so enthusiastic. That was her Bart. "I'll do my best to support you by keeping an eye on things while you're oof being a big hero and stealing all the spotlight."
"Bah! You know you'll be proud of me!" Bart scoffed.
"Of course I will! I was just teasing you and you can't deny you know it!" Margie shot back with a laugh.
Bart hopped up and turned the chair around to leave it in its correct position. "Be good, Margie. And take care of yourself, 'cause you're the most important part of home for me too."
