[March 21, 2007][Original] All the Blood
Title: All the Blood
Day/Theme: March 21, 2007 You just shed a little blood, and a lot of people shed a lot of tears
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Xalinn
Rating: PG-13
What did it take to cripple the king and his knights? Why, just one little thing. The queen had committed a crime that must be punished by death to appease the Catiirans. Gayadro could not make any other move and so he obeyed the laws of international relations and looked away as it was done. Xalinn Starseeker, the witness, was also the executioner. And many folk held that if he had just not spoken of it that it could have passed without incident. What were the chances it would ever happen again? The queen had been a good and upright woman, well, but for this one blemish. She would have made it up to the kingdom. People cried that she had been killed and many prayed for her repose.
Xalinn went to the infirmary to have his arm bandaged. No one asked what had happened to him. None of them had been so wise. The queen had not laid a finger on the Catiiran diplomat. Xalinn had not laid a finger on him either. All the blood had been his own and he was beginning to feel a bit drained by the loss of it.
