March 16: Nausicaa. "Deeper than Empathy."
Title: Deeper than Empathy
Day/Theme: March 16. gods are crumbling somewhere, machines are rumbling somewhere
Series: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds
Character/Pairing: Nausicaa
Rating: G
Any other person would’ve given in by now. Too many old prophesies were coming true. To many things thought to be true were disintegrating in the light of day. Anyone else would’ve been afraid, or crushed, or have lost faith.
She could hear the war machines from Pejite and Tolmekia coming closer every day. Underneath that was the scream of the insects. And underneath even that was the vibrating heartbeat of the God Warrior. It would awaken soon and war would begin. Her whole consciousness was hammered by the clicking, grinding, humming, churning sounds of a world about to change.
It should’ve driven Nausicaa crazy. It should’ve broken her. She only accepted it.
She loved them all too much to be driven back. She loved the enemy soldiers. She loved the insects. She even loved the God Warrior. They were all children and no one realized it. The prospect of being mother to them all should’ve terrified and overwhelmed her. She didn’t even give it a thought.
