[March 16] [Original Fiction] colourblind; in vivid greys

Title: colourblind; in vivid greys [prologue]
Day/Theme: March 16/gods are crumbling somewhere, machines are rumbling somewhere
Series: Original Fiction
Character/Pairing: Original (slash)
Rating: G? PG?

And we are so stupid.

Your eyes are green, I notice. I can't remember if they've always been that color and I just hadn't cared before. I don't know why I notice now. Nothing has changed, especially not me. Nothing has changed, I think.

There is a rough sound, jerking, from across the room. It is only you, undressing for the night. I roll over on this tiny bed we will share, for just one night, before moving on. Like we always do. Your skin is golden where the light from our paltry light hits it, and you hair shines, so vivid russet red I swear it's alive. I never used to see these things about you. I wonder why now. Why do I see things differently now; that black looks good on you?

It's like I was colourblind, seeing everything in all grey, and something righted itself. Colors flashed in my eyes, I saw you. And somewhere, the mechanics of life moved on, and parts of gods died as I changed.

Comments & critique welcomed. This is my first time writing creatively in about 6 months or so, so bear with me please. Neither of these characters have names, but were based off of a dream I had on Monday night. Apologies for rambling and any incoherency. It's 3 am.
