Keitaro and Naru found Kitsune on a front room couch, with a few large open bottles of sake on the table in front of her.

"It's early for that, isn't it?" an annoyed Naru said. "It isn't even dinner time yet."

"Au contraire, darlin'," said Kitsune. "It's later than ya think. Tomorrow, we'll wake up in this run-down boardin' house, unemployed an' broke, alone an' with no prospects, an' nothin' much to live for. Better make merry tonight, an' pretend tomorrow will never come."

Keitaro and Naru silently looked at each other. And then, they both lunged for the sake.
