"What's this?" Byakuya asked. After all, Rukia had firstly tried to hide the paper under the newspaper, secondly stuffed it behind a cushion, and thirdly, sat on it. He had resolved to be a better older brother. It was his duty to read it.
Rukia took a deep breath and visibly steeled herself. "It's a report from earth, older brother."
"Mm?"
"Apparently Kurosaki Ichigo's father is a shinigami. They enclosed a photo of the father."
Byakuya plucked the photograph from her fingers and looked at it.

"So what exactly hospitalised him again?" Renji asked curiously.
"Don't ask," Rukia snarled.
