[July 7] [Young Wizards] [Sweeter Still]
Title: Sweeter Still
Day/Theme: July 7 - racism in among future kings can only lead to no good
Series: Young Wizards
Character/Pairing: Roshaun, hints of Roshaun/Dairine?
Rating: G
Note: Spoilers perhaps for Wizard's Holiday and Wizards at War...
If asked then no – Roshaun did not like humans; teeming, grotty, menial race that they were. He found the lush rooms and opulence of his own more soothing by far – poor Roshaun, product of a life where others surrounded him, but only perhaps one could be called his friend! How could he be expected to fall in love with the frailer, blinder race he had come to, the ones who did things with their own hands and did not speak with the sun?
(It was a slow and spreading plague, this new appreciation for simplicity – his fondness for suckers, for oranges, for the brilliant human invention called sandwich. And of course he could not admit to liking yet the pale angry girl that made them - minimalism was an acquired taste – and he still found false kindness sweeter than brutal honesty - )
