Because something happened to Rain when he arrived in Paladia, that much was obvious. There were too many tiny little tells, and Lasswell knew damn well something was wrong. He'd always known.

... But he didn't know what, and neither did Fina, and he'd have gladly lived with the sting of no longer being Rain's closest if he'd just confided in someone.

So Lasswell asked. And Rain looked back at him, and said there was nothing.

Rain couldn't lie.

Not to him.

He knew, and he'd find out.
