[October 12th] [Original] Through the door
Title: Through the door
Day/Theme: October 12: Into the valley of dying stars
Series: Original (Diana and Belle #12)
Character/Pairing: Diana and Belle
Rating: PG
Author's Note: In space
The hallway faded away into the dark behind them as they passed through the doorway.
This was a special gate, one that opened not like a door but like a bubble, surrounding them with a haven of air and warmth to keep them safe in the frozen depths. The doorway vanished, and they were alone in space.
The stars were scattered in all directions, and Belle felt like she was falling, even though they weren’t moving at all.
“This is so beautiful, it’s scary,” Diana whispered.
“Let’s not stay long,” Belle answered, shivering the perfectly warm air.
Diana pressed her hand against the wall of the bubble, and they moved forward. To be able to see movement against the background of infinitely far stars meant they must be moving far beyond light speed… Belle tried to compose herself, suddenly anxious at their speed.
“We need that dust…” Diana said, more to herself than to Belle. And with that, they descended into the valley of dying stars.
