[Dec. 19] [Suikoden III] Is Everything Behind You?
Title: Is Everything Behind You?
Day/Theme: Dec. 19, 2014 "Oh life, with your shoulders in the mirror"
Series: Suikoden III
Character/Pairing: Geddoe, etc.
Rating: PG
How many times had Geddoe wondered if everything that meant anything was behind him? He had lived several lifetimes now; he had visited many lands. He had been afforded various opportunities to behave more like his friend Wyatt- the set aside his rune and settle down in obscurity, but that had never felt like a real, serious option for him. Perhaps it spoke to how, now matter how old he became, he still remembered his life back almost to the beginning. In this world, there were no guarantees of peace or safety or anonymity. Perhaps some people were never meant for such mild and quiet things.
His mother had been born in an independent nation. By the time he was born, that same land was Harmonia's. He didn't speak lightly of life lived like a slave. Queen he'd let in, who'd known a similar fate, and they had found a certain comfort and closeness in one another's company, but she was a woman who knew her own mind and if she'd desired that kind of life with him she would've asked him. The way it turned out, she hadn't chosen that kind of life with anyone. The last time he saw her she was back partnered up with the woman she'd worked with when he met her. They ran a pub in Caleria. (It was funny in a way, how much Queen had always loved Suleiman's that she would end up their biggest competition)
So there had been lovers, there had been friends, co-workers, companions of every sort. There had been wars, most of all, and he had lived through them. He had been born while Harmonia was expanding and he lived on now while it shrunk and Geddoe was glad for this.
But, also, he was tired. What was left? What would he chose to do now?
