[July 15] [Junjou Romanitca] Paperwork that Needs to be Done

Title: Paperwork that Needs to be Done
Day/Theme: July 15 / the way the blue sky suited her
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Miyagi/Risako, Miyagi/Sensei
Rating: PG
Note: Consider this AU, cause yeah... I doubt it went like this. I was just having such a hard time with this one.

33-year-old Miyagi Yoh lit his cigarette and opened his newspaper, eyes flickering straight to the horoscopes as he relaxed on the couch, the sounds of something boiling in the kitchen was a nice sound.. including the steady chopping noise his wife, Risako, made as she chopped up the vegetables for her stew. When the chopping grew silent, Miyagi turned to look at Risako, who was now walking over to him. He eyed her wearily. For the past three months they had been at odds.

It was apparent that this marriage wasn't going to last much longer.

She handed him a manila folder. He raised an eyebrow, chuckling lightly. “Couldn't afford wrapping paper? It is going to be Christmas soon, you know?”

“That's not it, idiot. They are divorce papers.”

He opened the folder, thumbing through the papers. More paperwork... as if his actual job didn't give him enough! Oh, how he wished he would get some assistant to throw his paper work at. He quickly noted the date of finalization. “That's nearly two years from now...”

Risako sighed. “Well, Yoh, I was hoping maybe if given time... we can work things out before needing this.”

“Risako...”

Her lips sunk into a frown and she huffed. “I'm not the one who isn't trying.”

“Risako, it isn't like that.”

They had this conversation before. She'd find something to say about how he wasn't putting any effort into the marriage and he'd try to defend himself, but he knew the truth. He knew that there wasn't any possible way to love Risako the way she needed it. He wasn't in love with her and he doubt he could fall. His heart still hung on to that precious image of his beloved sensei... the way she smiled, the way one of her causal white dresses cascaded down her body, and even the way the blue sky had suited her... and he knew all of those precious memories of sensei would never be broken and Risako couldn't replace them, but she couldn't even make him look away from them.

Risako was a lovely girl... she'd make a loving wife for someone... just not his wife. He sighed, straightening the papers once more and then laying them on the coffee table. “Don't worry, I'll work on them.”

She eyed him for a moment, then huffed out a sigh. “I have an arrangement with a friend tonight, so I won't be back till later tonight. The stew is cooking, it could be done in fifteen minutes.”

Uh, huh... friend indeed.

“Mm... thank you.”

She gave him one last look before leaving out the door. He sighed glancing over at the pot then at the door. He put his cigarette out in the ashtray and leaned in the couch.

He was sure he would spend another Christmas alone.

(THE END)

A/N: Bleeeeeeeh... I don't like this one, but I don't know what else to write @A@ so yeah :3
