[July 7] [Junjou Romantica] Nervous Issue

Title: Nervous Issues
Author: [livejournal.com profile] deecherrywolf
Day/Theme: July 7 / slowly twisting the lilac stalks
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Egoist

Hiroki rarely actually walked into the flower shop that Nowaki worked at, but when he did, he realized two things- Nowaki looked good in an apron and he wasn't the only one to notice. In fact, the times he had been by his 20-year-old lover's workplace, someone was always there that wasn't buying flowers but merely “browsing”. Usually they were high school and college girls... eying Nowaki like he were a piece of meat.

Hiroki walked into the flower shop nervously... Nowaki would be getting off soon and the younger man has asked him if they would walk home together... and of course Hiroki wouldn't refuse. He flushed and averted his eyes as he noticed Nowaki. Unfortunately for him, Nowaki was with a customer.

A returning customer.

The young girl looked about 16 or 18... her long dark hair pooled down to her waist in waves, her light brown eyes a beautiful almond shape, a curvy, yet slim body and a face of an angel. Hiroki froze as he watched the way she acted... her angel face flushed, her fingers fidgeting and shyly grasping and twisting her skirt... If the girl got a hold of the lilacs near her, they'd surely not make it and be twisted all to hell because of a shy teenage girl that was trying to flirt with his lover!

Hiroki watched for a moment. The girl licked her lips nervously. “Kusama-san, I was wondering... if you'd go out with me Saturday.”

Bold girl. Nowaki's eyes widened, still unaware of the “customer” behind him that was now looking at a bouquet of roses, trying to eavesdrop without being noticed. Nowaki smiled lightly, placing a hand atop her head.

“I'm sorry Nakajima-san, but I have a lover.”

The girl paused and now it was Hiroki's turn to flush. He suddenly felt like twitching himself... grasp at these beautiful roses and twist them... even if they did have thorns...

The girl's brow furrowed. “She must really be beautiful.”

“Oh, the person I love is very, very cute.”

Hiroki's frown deepened and that flush became more vivid. Damn that Nowaki. The girl was disappointed and emotion was soaked in her voice, desperate to have answers.

“What does this girl have that I don't?”

Hiroki rose an eyebrow. He knew what he had that she didn't... but he wanted to hear what Nowaki thought... what Nowaki really liked about him.

“My heart.”

Hiroki yelped... he had twisted the stalk of a rose at that, puncturing himself with a thorn. Nowaki's head whipped around and the girl jumped. Nowaki looked confused, then panicked when he saw blood on his lover's fingers.

“Hiro-san!”

“A-Ah... hey Nowaki.”

Nowaki walked over to him, all but ignoring the girl and gently took Hiroki's hand in his, inspecting the small cut. He glanced at Hiroki's face... giving him that sad face. “Hiro-san should be more careful with roses...”

Hiroki licked his lips, his flush returning full force and looked away. Nowaki walked over to the first aid kit and got out some disinfectant and a band-aid. The girl's eyes averted from Nowaki tenderly placing a band on the other man's finger. Her smile became painful. “I see now.”

“Nakajima-san?”

She smiled politely at Nowaki. “I'm sorry to bother you, Kusama-san. Have a nice day.”

Nowaki watched her leave, confused. Then looked back down at Hiroki. “Let me close up and then I'll be ready, okay?”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“And Hiro-san?”

“What?”

Nowaki grabbed the broom and smiled. “I'm sorry you had to see Nakajima-san hitting on me.”

Hiroki's face turned beet red... once again, Nowaki knew he was there and hadn't said anything and the feeling in his heart made him want to take hold of those flowers and twist them and relieve some of his anger and embarrassment. Instead he growled at his younger lover to shut up and wait for him to finish.

(THE END)
A/N: *sigh* I don't like this one... oh well, you can't win every time.
