Day/Theme: Mar 24 / a vein of stars calling out my name
Series: Junjou Romantica
Character/Pairing: Terrorist
Shinobu liked living in Australia. His foster parents were nice and things weren't complicated here. There was no visible Miyagi to remind him of his marriage to Risako.
But that didn't stop him from thinking of his brother-in-law. The overwhelming disappointment of knowing his destiny was no longer what he thought it was hung over his head when he thought about Miyagi. He sighed to himself. He should focus on his studies. But when his foster mother knocked, he shut his book, and looked at her.
“Your father is on the phone.”
Shinobu told her he had it as he answered the phone in his room. “Hello?”
“Ah, Shinobu. How has everything been going over there?.”
“Fine. Why are you calling? You never call.”
There was a moment of silence, which caused Shinobu's shoulders to slump. Why not speak the truth? His father did rarely call... but then he heard his father sigh, signaling his continuation.
“Miyagi and Risako had a divorce.”
Shinobu blinked. The words soaked in. He had just been thinking of Miyagi and the destiny that could have been... and now he receives a call that Miyagi and Risako aren't together anymore. He could feel happiness bubbling in his chest. He could see his destiny reopening. But he had to smother the happiness for now.
“Oh? That's too bad.”
“Well, these things happen. I just thought you'd like to know you no longer have a brother-in-law.”
“Okay.”
The conversation didn't last long after that. Shinobu finished talking to his father, hanging the phone back up. He tried to hold back the smile that wanted to spread across his face.
It was settled.
This was definitely destiny.

I am not sure if the dean called Shinobu often or if at all. They don't seem close, but I figured he'd probably check up on Shinobu every so often and at least let Shinobu know of the divorce or something. xD
