[March 14] [Black Butler] The Hardest Part

Title: The Hardest Part
Day/Theme: 14. when the darkness falls under your hair, there I’ll be
Series: Black Butler
Character/Pairing: Ciel/Lizzie, Sebastian
Rating: G

Excerpt: Lizzie never minded about a womans duty for years. She was eight, not yet marrying age, yet . The future felt too far away to care about. Honestly, she wasn't sure she would ever be fifteen-- that was too long.

That is what she believed until Ciel's manner darkened prematurely, and his blue eyes clouded with cynicism. then she was compelled to follow a woman's duty.

The emotional distance, miles and miles, depressed her. She was not yet marriageable age, unable to hold him him like a mother or love him as a partner. She worried so much she suffered many a fainting spell at home. No one paid it any mind, assuming it was her corsets.

Ciel never knew. Such things were common for women. She was thankful for that, as well as that she never fainted when she visited. Somehow she was relieved when she was with him. However, she still felt like a burden. Her meddling seemed to annoy Ciel.

“I have a strict schedule,” he would say.

There was no way she could assist him as a wife. Sebastian had taken those tasks from her-- cooking, keeping the household in order. . .

There wasn't much left for her to do. She bore his dissatisfied expressions and smiled. That was all that she could do anymore.
