"Well, Rem only told you the good stories." Wolfwood said.

"What do you mean?" asked Vash.

"There were giant sea monsters that ate ships."

"You made that up, Nick."

"No. And the sailors didn't get a good deal either."

"What do you mean?" Vash asked.

"Rum, sodomy, and the lash!"

"Rum, sodomy, and the lash," Vash repeated. "That does sound awful."

"Yeah."

"Nick?"

"Yes, Vash?"

"What's sodomy?"
