[10-Mar.-2007] [D. Gray-Man] Transience

Title: Transience
Fandom: D. Gray-Man
Day: 10 March - Look into their eyes, and you'll see what they know: everybody dies.
Characters (Pairing): Allen Walker and Lenalee Lee
Rating: PG
Warnings: Backstory spoilers if you missed Lenalee's flashback in Rewinding Town? 'tis a short dark-fic, I think that says all. Unbetaed, but self-edited.
Notes: Um. First time posting here. Don't kill me?
Disclaimer: I don't own either of them, sadly.

They have both seen death. She: her parents. He: his father, twice. Both of them have seen many more than those, but the floor-dissolving horror of watching loved ones die sticks with you.

He stares into her eyes and sees the same emptiness he often feels, after a long day in the secret killing fields their war lives in. She pulls him close just to remember what it's like to hold a living body, warm with heartbeat and blood beneath skin, against her own. They both know it is a transient thing, this love, but neither minds.

They've seen their world die four times between them, after all. One or two more won't make that much of a difference.
